My name is Claire Leatherwood Slebonick and I've been in and around classic cars and motorcycles for as long as I can remember: some of my fondest childhood memories include riding in the rumble seat of my grandfather's 1929 Chrysler or hopping in his 1978 Fiat 124 Spyder to go to breakfast on Saturday mornings. My dad continued the family tradition and passed the love of the hobby--and the '78 Fiat!--down to me.
I consider myself to be very lucky that not only have I been steeped in the hobby since I was an infant, but my husband, Pat, is the Executive Director of the Studebaker National Museum which affords me the wonderful opportunity to be very close to the classic car community.
Pat and I live in South Bend, Indiana, with our son, Slade, and are expecting a daughter in August. I'm thrilled to serve the GIRCCCA as a member of the board; thank you for having me!
